With more than 20 years of business in Austin, El Sol y La Luna Restaurant goes beyond being a restaurant to a place to hold social gatherings, business meetings, community events and a complete off-site catering provider. Our restaurant is a preferred venue for families, businesses and non-profit organizations.
Throughout the years, Nilda de la Llata, restaurant founder and owner, has worked closely with local non-profits and other organizations in fundraising events and various social and political causes such as Mexic-Arte Museum, Latinitas, Las Comadres, YWCA, Rain Forest Partnership, GEN Austin, Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM), Project Transitions, American Gateways, Caritas, Lupe Arte, La Peña, Alma de Mujer, SafePlace, Liveable City, Austin Car Share, El Buen Samaritano, Save Town Lake, Austin Music Foundation, and Keller Williams.
El Sol y La Luna has been recognized by Hispanic Magazine as one of the Top 50 Hispanic Restaurants in the United States. It has also received mentions in the New York Times, Runner’s World, Latina, ELLE DÉCOR, Texas Highways, Gourmet Magazine, Austin Woman and many others.
Malu Garza-Garcia is our Managing Partner, she is from Mexico City and she arrived to Austin in 2009 from New York city. She has a degree in Touristic Business Administration and her background is in Hotels and Restaurants.
